I got the train to Gori this morning and it was pretty good.
A curious thing is that you have to present ID to buy ticket, not just me but the Georgians as well, they have to present their plastic ID cards. And then before you can get on the train, a small, stout, officious woman in a tightly fitting uniform demands to see your ticket and ID again.
I wonder if it is a legacy from the past when freedom of movement was restricted.
